Activities on and in the area

Afferden may be small and rural, but there is plenty to do!

The surroundings of Bed & Breakfast Angelbeeck are ideal for all kinds of activities. Bed & Breakfast Angelbeeck is located directly on a beautiful and extensive nature reserve where you can enjoy cycling, walking, mountain biking or horseback riding. There is also a golf course nearby and a recreational lake where there is plenty to do.

To walk

In the vicinity of our B&B it is beautiful walking.
The roads and paths are freely accessible and the area is very varied with heathland, forests and fens. There are several junction routes to follow, both short and longer routes. Many routes can be reached directly from the B&B.

The pieterpad is a long-distance walking route that runs from Pieterburen in Groningen to Sint Pietersberg in South Limburg, making it the longest continuous route in the Netherlands. There is plenty to see and experience along the way and the landscape is constantly changing. The Pieterpad also runs through Afferden and Bed & Breakfast Angelbeeck is about a 15-minute walk from the route.

Click here for more information about the Pieterpad.

Bicycles

Cycling enthusiasts can also enjoy Afferden!

Bed & Breakfast Angelbeeck is located directly on an extensive bicycle junction system (junction 33). This cycle route network consists of a large number of numbered nodes at intersections of roads. There are connecting routes between the nodes, which are signposted in two directions. You cycle a route by following the signs from numbered node to numbered node. There is also a connection to the network in Germany. Bicycle route maps are available at the B&B.

If you do not have your own bicycle, it is also possible to rent a ladies' or men's bicycle from us in the village.
